It's happened before and it's happened again

Another night spent dreaming about bloggers.

There was a meetup thing in a club in Melbourne. I was at the bar and a girl came up to me and told me I was funny. I asked her how she knew, then she backtracked and said to forget she said anything, but I stopped her and told her who I was and all was good. She was Jelly (and she better not slap me with a restraining order for continually dreaming about her!).

I can't really remember the specifics (I woke up over 13 hours ago!) but there was a lot of alchohol being drunk in a cinema, then a restaraunt, then somebodies house. She was there, and she was there and he was there and she was there and she was there. Basically, most of my 'most read' were there.

The thing that first struck me was the whole secret squirell of it all - fake identies, hiding behind names, not saying the B-word. The second thing that struck me was how 'everyday normal 'everyone one. People were dorky and...er... dumpy (with the exception of TJ and her imaculate eyebrows) but comfortable and funny and really, really friendly - Everyone was getting along great guns! People were looking at us and wondering what our connection to each other was and how we were managing to have such an awesome time!

I think it was a nice reminder of the fact that every blogger is human and normal, whilst also pointing out how you start to get to know these people through the written tippy-tapped word - getting insight into their everyday lives, getting to know their likes and dislikes, their humour and their personality.

And also that I double-triple promise to attend the next blogevent that I can get to, if this imaginary one was anything to go by!

Congratulations Enny and welcome to the insanity club! I've been a member myself for sometime, and let me tell you there are joys to be had. However, be afraid, be very afraid...

It's true, that's what I felt when I went to my first meet-up. Everyone looks a little different to how you've imagined, TJ has the most impressive eyebrows in the whole world and everyone gets on like a house on fire.

Duck, TJ, Dean and I have been planning another open invite Canberra meetup soon, so we'll be in touch!

Well, me (and my eyebrows) - although slightly scared right now - are definitely up for some drinkies, etc.

I don't know what everyone's schedules are like, but I'm actually free this weekend and next weekend (for once).

Thoughts?

You didn't dream about me! I feel so unpopular... :P

I haven't ever dreamt about any bloggers before - perhaps I'm not a true blogger myself until I do.

CB - It's a little worrying - I don't usually often dream about my actual real-flesh friends!

Zoe - they're very intimidating! Though we were meant to be distracted by the zit I think (it didn't work!)

TJ - you should be flattered! BUT (I like big buts) Fri is my soccer grandfinal and sat night is a friends bday, next weekend I'm hitting the coast from Fri lunch till Sun night, so if it fits around then, I'm in!

Erica - You coulda been there in the rabble! There were just ppl all milling about and it was like - "there's so and so, and that's so and so" etc. Come up and say hello next time! ;o)

Knowing me I would have been the one hiding in the corner while the one person I knew in the room was off chatting to other people, so your dream seems quite accurate. Next time I'll make sure my dream-persona gets over their social ineptness and says hello.

Enny, your post "inspired" me to dream about a blogger's post. I may even post about it some day. Freeeeeeky indeed!

Da'Stu: I had the feeling you would be the one to ask that! Everyone was jus normal ppl - I wasn't there to pick up!

CB: I can't wait to hear about it!

Okay

TJ, Erica - Am I hot?

You know I'm not allowed to answer questions like that, oh friend-of-ex-boyfriend-Student. But wait...this isn't my blog, and ex boyfriend won't read these comments...mua ha haaaa

In that case, I'd possibly shag Da'Stu, if there wasn't the whole ex boyfriend connection.

He has his charms...

(There's some guy who works late at night in a high-rise building in Melbourne who could probably tell you more)

Enny, now you've done it! ;)

*Sigh* - I guess I'll find out when his royal Studiness plans a trip down in April (rumour has it). This blogging is such hard work!

CB - Stay tuned in May for a post on how Hott Da'Stu is and how smooth his moves are on the laydeez.

Maybe some other day.
